Marlborough Travel Private Wine Tour

Come and enjoy the wineries, breweries and distilleries of Marlborough. This is a great way for a group to get out amongst the best that Marlborough has to offer. Your wine tour guide will show you around a range of fantastic attractions and stop for a leisurely lunch at a winery restaurant or cafe. These are just a few of the options for your day. Please feel free to mix and match the itineraries, or add in your own favourite wineries.
A private wine tour can be created for any group size from individuals and couples through to larger groups. We can create a wine tour around your favourite wineries or wine styles and this tour can include a full day of wine tastings or a nice range of wines, foods, arts, crafts, attractions and scenic highlights.

Suggested Itinerary (Marlborough's Finest.)
10.00am: Collection from your accommodation and depart out into the fabulous Marlborough wine region
Arrive at Saint Clair and Traditional Country Preserves, A fantastic combination of fine award winning wines along with a tasting of home made jams, preserves and chutneys. Complete the food tastings with a visit to Makana Chocolates to sample the divine hand made chocolates.
Arrive at Hunters Wines, one of the very original Marlborough wineries. Taste the extensive range of superb wines and view the arts of Clarry Neame.
Arrive at Cloudy Bay, Marlborough's iconic Winery for a tasting of the award winning range of wines. This might include the award winning Methode Traditionelle "Pelorus" or the stunning "Te Koko" a uniquely oaked Sauvignon Blanc.
Arrive at the brand new Drylands Restaurant at the Nobilo Winery. This fabulous new restaurant features the kitchen built in the restaurant as the focal point, a great oppotunity to watch the chef in action. Enjoy a nice leisurely lunch and a sample of the range of Nobilo wines. (lunch is not included in the tour cost, but we can pre-arrange a platter lunch or a 2/3 course lunch to suit).
After lunch visit Matua for a tasting of the range of Shingle Peak wines and time to look through the extensive gifts and world house furniture.
Finish the day with a tasting of fine red wines at Fromm Estate. Fromm has built a stunning reputation on producing high quality wines including Pinot Noir, Syrah, Malbec and Merlot.
4.00pm: Depart for Accommodation
10.00am : Collection from your accommodation and depart out into the fabulous Marlborough wine region
Start the day with a visit to Mahi wines . The name Mahi, meaning ‘our work, our craft’ gives a great indication that these people are passionate about fine wines. Enjoy a wander through the underground cellar and a tasting of fabulous wines.
Visit Grove Mill winery, the home of the frog! also the home of fabulous wines to sample, a wonderful art gallery, native gardens and a wetland area. A great experience for all to take in all the Grove Mill offers. The added bonus through Feb/Mar/April is the Vine Library, a short row of each grape variety produced. During these months visitors can sample the grapes off the vines.
Arrive at Highfield Estate for a tasting of the range of fine wines. Today you will get to sample the fabulous foods of Highfield Estate. Relax with a Gourmet Platter of meats, local seafoods, salads, fresh breads, and a range of local delicacies, a perfect match to the Highfield wines. Aternatively take your pick from the extensive Highfield lunch menu. (Lunch costs are not included in the tour price.)
While at Highfield a short walk to the top of the tower is a must. The views out over the vineyards and olive groves of Marlborough are excellent. Don't forget your camera!!
Arrive at Framingham Wine Company. While Framingham produce an extensive range of wines they are best known for their range of Rieslings. Depending on when you visit you may get to try the Dry, the Classic or the Select Rieslings. Also look out for some fantastic reds such as Pinot Noir and Montepulciano.

Arrive at the The Village. A fantastic combination of tasting experiences with Bouldevine wines along with the Schnapps of Prenzel Distillery, the Marlborough Olive Oils, view the crafts in Quilters Barn or relax with a great coffee in the cafe.
Finish the day with a divine chocolate tasting at Makana Chocolates.
4.00pm: Depart for Accommodation
The Marlborough Travel Private Wine Tour operates for a private group of 1 - 8 people. The price for the day is NZ$495.00. This price includes vehicle and private wine tour guide for the day (6 hours). We will collect you from your accommodation in Picton, Havelock or Blenheim and return you back at the end of the day. Alternatively collection and drop off at the Airport, Ferry Terminal or Railway Station.
The only additional cost for the day is lunch and beverage, and of course all the wine that you will purchase to take home!!

Enjoy the comfort of our BMW 7 series or Mercedes S series sedan. With full climate air, surround sound stereo, all leather upholstery and ample leg room, this is a fantastic way to tour the wineries of Marlborough.
During the day your private wine tour guide will assist with all aspects of the tour including expert advice on the wineries and wines to try.
We will collect you from your accommodation in Picton, Havelock or Blenheim and return you back at the end of the day. Alternatively collection and drop off at the Airport, Ferry Terminal or Railway Station.

 Gardens. Visit a public or private garden in the Marlborough region. There are a vast number of diversly different gardens to visit. Places like Upton Oaks, Barewood, Arcadia, Hortensia, Broomfield, Woodend, Pollard Park, and some of the stunning winery gardens.
The team at Marlborough Travel will assist with matching a suitable garden to your group. Charges for garden entry range from $5.00pp to $20.00pp.
 Winery Educational Tour. Learn the process of making fine wine with a guided educational tour through the Montana Brancott Winery. The knowledgeable staff at Montana will guide you through the winery explaining the the terminology of Cuves, Cooperage, Barriques and more!! See the innovative Tipping Tanks, a world first. Charges for this Educational Winery Tour are $10.00pp.
What visit to Montana would be complete without a fine dinning experience in the Brancott Restaurant. A full restaurant menu is available daily, or alternatively relax with a coffee or a glass of Montana wine.
 Olives. This is fast becoming a large industry in Marlborough with the extensive plantings of Olives through out the region. Visit a Olive Oil producer, take a guided tour through an Olive Grove, learn the process of making extra-virgin oils and taste the results. Visit award winning Olive Oil Producers such as Seresin, Creekside, Blumenfield, and Serendipity.
Our Olive experience can be as simple as a visit to a Olive Oil shop, or indepth with a private guided tour with tastings. Charges range from $3.00pp to $20.00pp.
 Divine Chocolate!! Visit Makana Confections' boutique chocolate factory and enjoy samples of their incredible products. Watch hand-made chocolates and other fine confections being made using traditional methods, and you'll understand why Makana has garnered numerous awards.
Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. Omaka is one of Marlborough's major visitor attractions - offering a captivating experience for the whole family. You will be transported back to an era of aviation chivalry - when the Knights of the Sky jousted above the clouds on horses of cloth and wire. You'll learn about some of the famous aviation aces and marvel at the early aircraft in which they braved the skies. Our dramatic presentation of some of the world's rarest WW1 aircraft and aviation memorabilia will leave you breathless.
In conjunction with the Interislander ferry sailings we can offer some fantastic wine tour packages.
