9.00am Collection from your accommodation in Christchurch and depart north to Kaikoura. This seaside township is world renowned for wildlife encounters and of course the delicacy of Crayfish (lobster). Today the group will have the choice of activities for Whale Watch, Dolphin Encounter or Albatross Encounter. Alternatively stay on shore and enjoy the Maori Tours experience, a wonderful cultural experience with Kaikoura locals. Your group today can all go on one activity or split up and select the activity that you would like to experience.
Tonight stay overnight at the brand new Fairways apartments, a stunning new Accommodator at ocean Ridge in Kaikoura.
After breakfast depart north to Marlborough, world famous for Sauvignon Blanc. Arrive Montana Brancott Estate for the guided tour through the winery where the group will see world firsts, such as the 60,000 litre tipping tanks, and the enormous barrel rooms. As Marlborough’s and New Zealand’s largest wine producer Montana knows exactly how to produce fine wines in large volumes. After the tour enjoy tasting a range of Montana reserve wines. After lunch its time for something different with a visit to the Omaka Aviation Centre. This is one of the largest privately owned collections of World War 1 Aircraft anywhere in the world. Each of the displays has been carefully created by Peter Jackson and the talented team at Weta Workshop (The team behind Lord of the Rings). After a day of fabulous wine and food settle into your luxury suite at Marlborough Vintners Hotel.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at accommodation before departing out to the Marlborough Sounds. Arrive in the small seaport township of Havelock. Havelock is the main gateway into the Pelorus and Kenepuru Sounds, two of the main Sounds that make up the Marlborough Sounds. On arrival in Havelock enjoy a nice lunch at the Slip Inn Café right on the waterfront in the marina. Following lunch depart out into the Sounds on the Greenshell Mussel Cruise, a fabulous scenic cruise of the stunning Marlborough Sounds.
Breakfast at accommodation before departing on your day of action and adventure. Your choice of guided sea kayaking, guided mountain biking or a guided walk. These are fully guided trips with all transport, safety gear, instruction and picnic style lunch included. For the non-adventurous settle back for a day of relaxation or take on a bit of retail therapy!!
